This 11" tall Figure was created with some help from a silicone mold.  
After removing the wet clay from the silicone,  variations are sought through modeling  details and subtle gestures. Different clays are used for different colors before a three-day firing in our wood-burning kiln. It's mounted to a cherrywood base with a lag bolt and anchor inside the foot. 
Its firing had a mishap resulting in the head being broken. Some of my larger sculptures are also headless for reasons to do with kiln loading.
