This study informs the award-winning Figure Vessel series. It was built with solid stoneware, then fired in a soda kiln.  Its black glaze washed out to cobalt blue from the atmosphere, and it also grew tiny yellow crystals. A hole through the foot reveals where it was once upon an armature.
